Dewey F. Bartlett, Jr. is the 39th mayor of Tulsa and President of Keener Oil & Gas Company since 1994. Son of an oilman, Oklahoma Governor and U.S. Senator, Bartlett’s legacy spans decades of integrity and conservative values. Among other energy conservation initiatives, Bartlett is currently working to expand the City of Tulsa’s CNG fleet to make Tulsa a more energy efficient city. Bartlett graduated from Southern Methodist University with a master's degree in Business Administration in Finance. Together, he and his wife, Victoria, have three children.

Britta K. Gross is Director, Global Energy Systems and Infrastructure Commercialization at General Motors.  She is responsible for steering the commercialization efforts for new infrastructures required to support GM’s biofuel, battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle programs. Britta has an extensive and diverse background in Automotive and Aerospace industries. She received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and studied language arts at the University of Wurzburg in Germany.

 

John Schaaf

Johnson Controls, Inc.
John Schaaf’s areas of expertise include the deployment of advanced battery technology for hybrid and electric vehicles. He also has considerable experience with federal policy on vehicle electrification programs, energy efficiency and renewable energy. During his 20 years with Johnson Controls, John has been instrumental in developing and implementing the advanced energy storage business strategy and vehicle electrification programs. Prior to that, John was responsible for the energy efficiency, renewable energy and physical security businesses for the federal government market for the company. Before he joined Johnson Controls, John was on active duty in the US Air Force as a Contracting Officer working in systems acquisition and manufacturing.

Steve Altus is a supply chain advisor at Anadarko Petroleum and is heavily involved in the company’s NGV efforts. He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry, including 11 years with Anadarko in various business service and supply chain roles and more than 10 years with ExxonMobil as an accountant and financial analyst. Anadarko CEO Jim Hackett is the founding principle of America’s Natural Gas Alliance commonly known as ANGA. Steve serves on the ANGA committees for NGV’s, Marketing and Infrastructure. Anadarko is also a founding member of the Greater Houston NGV Alliance with Steve serving on the Board of Directors.

 

Richard Battersby

Richard Battersby is the Director of Fleet Services at University of California, Davis and is Coordinator of the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition. He has over 25 years in the fleet industry and has written and participated in numerous state, local and federal grant funded projects. Richard is a CAFM and CPFP and currently holds over 40 ASE certifications. He has a BS degree from the California State University, Sacramento and is an active member in PFSA, APWA, CCFMA, and is a past Chairman and officer of the NAFA San Francisco Chapter.

 

Bill Burns

Bill Burns has 27 years of fleet management experience and has been the City of Columbus' Fleet Operations Manager for the last 6 years.  He is responsible for over-seeing operations for the City’s fleet of over 6200 vehicles and equipment as well as 128 ASE Blue Seal employees.  Bill is also responsible for the development of the City’s green fleet initiatives, implementation of the City’s first green fleet policy, the construction of the first city CNG station and purchasing 24 additional CNG trucks. He implemented on-line vehicle/equipment auctions that generated over $1,000,000,000 a year.

 

Pamela Burns
Dallas Fort Worth Clean Cities Co-Coordinator
North Central Texas Council of Governments
Pamela Burns has worked on the Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities program at the North Central Texas Council of Governments for over 5 years.  She has led a variety of clean vehicle education projects and transportation planning efforts including the bid for and implementation of Super Bowl XVL.  Pamela currently represents the South Central Region on the National Clean Cities Coordinator Council, serves as Newsletter Chair of the Greater DFW Chapter of the Women in Transportation Seminar, and is a member of the Greater Fort Worth Public Relations Society of America and the American Association for Public Administration.

 

Kevin Campbell

Kevin Campbell is the Automotive Engineer for the City of Chicago’s Department of Fleet Management. For the past 11 years, he has overseen vehicle and equipment acquisition activities for all departments and sister agencies, a fleet of over 6,500 vehicles. Prior to his position at the City of Chicago, Kevin spent 7 years working in automotive design, development and manufacturing, and holds several automotive and consumer product patents. He received dual B.S. degrees (Aeronautical / Astronautical Engineering and Astronomy) from the University of Illinois in 1993, and was granted a Professional Engineer’s license by the State of Illinois in 1998.

 

Clay Chandler MBA, CPFP

Clay Chandler is a Certified Public Fleet Professional who served as the State Fleet Manager for Oklahoma (2008 – 2010) and was responsible for the State’s Alternative Fuel Vehicle/Infrastructure Programs.  Oklahoma ranks third nationally (following California and New York) in public access CNG stations.  Clay currently serves as the Executive Director of West Virginia’s Fleet Management Office and is partnering with the state’s Department of Environmental Protection and Division of Energy on the state’s latest Green initiatives.  West Virginia sits on both Marcellus and Devonian Shale Formations, each having the potential to produce vast amounts of natural gas in the short-term.

 

Lori Pampell Clark

North Central Texas Council of Governments
Lori Pampell Clark joined the Transportation Department staff of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) in July 2005.  She currently serves as a Senior Transportation Planner in Air Quality Policy & Program Development.  Her responsibilities include implementation of various programs and policies to improve air quality by increasing the use of cleaner technologies and more efficient operations among vehicle and equipment fleets.  In 2002, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Baylor University, where she wrote a senior thesis analyzing air quality and transportation issues. 

 

Wayne Corum

City of Fort Worth, TX
The City of Fort Worth hired Wayne Corum as Director of the Equipment Services Department in November 2006 after serving for 9 months as the Interim Director.  He holds a B. A. degree in Mathematics from Southwest Baptist University (Missouri) and an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Mr. Corum is a member of North Texas Clean Cities, the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA), American Public Works Association (APWA) and Rocky Mountain Fleet Management Association (RMFMA) where he serves as the Past Chair of the Texas Chapter.

 

Wendy Dafoe
Senior Project Leader, Clean Cities Program
National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Wendy Dafoe is a senior project leader for the Clean Cities program at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. For the past 15 years, Wendy has managed the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles Data Center and assisted Clean Cities’ almost 90 coordinators with all their informational needs. Through this network of coordinators, Clean Cities enables fleets to reduce their petroleum consumption by providing them with data and tools through its Web sites and technical assistance project, as well as with connections to local and federal funding opportunities. 

 

Elisa Durand
Environmental and Fuel Strategies Leader
ARI – Automotive Resources International
Elisa Durand plays a critical role within ARI’s strategy to lead the industry in green and fuel expertise as the Environmental and Fuel Strategies resource. She regularly consults with clients that are evaluating opportunities to implement alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles, rejuvenate onsite fueling infrastructure, quantify their fleet’s carbon footprint, et al. She proactively counsels customers regarding compliance with federal, state, and local emissions regulations. Elisa joined the ARI Sales Support Team in 2006 and held several positions before being promoted to supervisor in 2009. In this position, she was responsible for managing proposal activity, strategic fleet assessments, nationwide site visits and business case development. 

 

Glenn Ellis

Glenn Ellis is responsible for all marketing activities and dealer operations for Hino Trucks.  The day to day marketing tasks include promoting Hino Trucks through direct and indirect advertising, sales promotion, trade show participation and dealer training.  The day to day dealer operations include growing the dealer network, analyzing their performance and putting measures in place to continuously improve the overall performance of our dealer body.  Glenn joined HMS in October 2004. Prior to joining Hino, he was the Manager, Product Distribution for Detroit Diesel Corporation from 1996 through 2004 and Sales Representative for the same company beginning in 1993.

 

Deb Frodl
GE Global EV Leader & Chief Strategy Officer
GE Capital Fleet Services
Deb Frodl is GE’s Global EV Leader & Chief Strategy Officer for GE Capital Fleet Services. Deb is responsible for GE’s global electric vehicle initiative and for GE Capital Fleet Services’ commercial organization that includes strategy, marketing, communications and telematics.   She’s been a pioneer in sustainable fleet transportation by driving adoption of EVs across the industry and within GE’s own fleet as part of the company’s landmark commitment to purchase 25,000 EVs by 2015. Deb is a board member of AALA, board member of Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) and a member of NAFA and AFLA.

 

The five panelists joining Deb are part of GE’s first electric vehicle (EV) fleet deployment. GE has made a commitment to purchase 25,000 EVs by 2015 staring with the Company’s own fleet.  Nicholas Ristow, Melissa Caroprese, Brian Grebe, Tim Newell and Jeff Thomas have logged thousands of miles driving Chevy Volts for their jobs this year. They will provide insight from their unique vantage point as an EV driver.

 

William (Bill) D. Gibson

Bill Gibson joined SCT in 2011 and leads the sales and marketing team. He previously spent 38 years at General Motors beginning at the GM Assembly Division Arlington plant.  He quickly moved from a plant foreman to GMAD’s Central Office Operations. In 1991, he joined GM’s Corporate Fleet & Government Sales Operations. Bill held the positions of Director of Fleet & Commercial Sales, Director of Rental Sales and Director of Marketing & Internal Support. His recent responsibilities included GM’s Global Fleet Sales, Fleet Management Company Relations, Global Fleet Sales and Federal Government Sales. Bill was an involved member of various fleet industry organizations including AFLA, NAFA and AALA.

 

Nancy Gioia

Nancy Gioia directs strategy and planning for the next generation of Ford’s global electric vehicle portfolio. Nancy was previously Ford’s director of Sustainable Mobility Technology and Hybrid Vehicle Programs and director of Current Model Vehicle Quality. She has been a part of over 25 vehicle launches and served as chief engineer for the Ford Aeromax class-8 truck line and the 2002 Ford Thunderbird program. Nancy first joined Ford Motor Company in 1982 as a graduate trainee in the Electronics Division. In 2005 and 2010 she was named as one of the Automotive News “100 Leading Women in the Auto Industry.”

 

Greg Glander

Greg Glander is responsible for working with government fleets in the area of promoting Toyota’s advanced technology vehicles. Those vehicles include (but not limited to) the 2012 Prius “plug-In” hybrid, the 2012 Scion IQ EV, and the 2012 Toyota/Tesla RAV4EV. Greg has been with Toyota for 23 years, and has held previous assignments in the Corporate Accessories, Market Representation, and Motorsports Departments respectively.

 

Norman Herrera

Norman Herrera serves as Director for Market Development at Chesapeake Energy’s Oklahoma City Corporate Office, having been with the company since 2008. Norman's primary role is to manage and advocate on behalf Chesapeake’s natural gas vehicle initiatives in all operating areas, including local governments, commercial retailers, and producer industry collaboratives and trade associations. Norman has previous experience working at the City of Dallas serving for three years as Special Assistant to Dallas Mayor Laura Miller and as a Senior Budget Analyst in the Office of Financial Services.

M. Bart Herring is responsible for sales and marketing strategies for pre-owned and new car fleet sales.  He reports to Mike Slagter, Vice President of Sales. Bart’s experience at MBUSA includes more than ten years in various roles including sales operations, product management, and finance.  Previously, Bart was Product Manager for the E/S/CL/CLS and SL-Class and managed the launches of the current generation E/S/CL and CLS-Class. Prior to MBUSA, Bart worked as a Financial Review Analyst for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services where he supported the research and implementation of commercial and wholesale loan contracts within the Mercedes-Benz dealer network.

 

Tom Johnson

Tom’s book on teambuilding has sold over 25,000 copies and was customized by Sears-Roebuck for their Corporate University. His second book is on the 7 Qualities of the 100 Best Fleets in North America. Tom started the Government Green Fleet and the 100 Best Fleets in North America awards. He facilitates fleet roundtable discussions monthly around the country to find solutions to common problems. Tom’s articles on best business practices are seen monthly in different Fleet publications.

Gerald Koss has fleet responsibility for the development of the product and marketing strategies, including alternative fuel technologies, for all current and future Ford and Lincoln vehicle lines.  He spent five years in Ford's Global Product Strategy and Marketing organization where his assignments included development of the forward model product strategy for North and South America and as the Mondeo Product Marketing Manager in Ford of Europe.  His European assignments also included responsibility for the launch of retail leasing initiatives in nine countries. Gerald began his career with Ford in 1981 as a zone manager for Ford Customer Service Division in the Colorado region.

 

Thomas Miller

Thomas Miller has over twenty years of experience directing and developing effective vehicle sales and fixed operation processes and teams.  He is currently responsible for the development of Electric Vehicle Commercial Fleet sales and processes and responsible for increasing awareness of the i-MiEV (Electric Vehicle) with government, large and small commercial fleets. He launched two new segment vehicles for Smart USA (Penske) as Director of Sales and Nissan North America (Leaf) as Electric Vehicle Operations Manager.  Thomas developed an understanding of the automotive industry with 19 years at Chrysler Motors Corporation handling all aspects of field operations from Market Representative to Fixed Operations and Dealer Operations.

 

Mindy Mize

Mindy Mize has worked for the North Central Texas Council of Governments for over 12 years. She works on initiatives including Air North Texas, a regional air quality public awareness campaign, which was awarded the EPA’s Clean Air Excellence Award for Outreach and Education in 2009.  Mindy has worked on several Clean Vehicle programs for the MPO. Mindy has been on National Clean Cities Coordinators Council since 2007 and was a Coordinator Council Co-Chair from 2008 to 2010 where she led the Accountability and Training Team. Mindy was Clean Cities Coordinator of the Year for 2009-2010 and sits on the North Texas Clean Air Coalition Executive Board.

 

Morry Markowitz

Morry Markowitz leads the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA) as Executive Director.  Morry comes with extensive expertise in the energy field, in addition to sixteen years of association management.  Prior to coming to the FCHEA, Morry was the Group Director of External Affairs at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI).  Before his work at EEI, Morry was the Vice President of Public Affairs with the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers.  Morry has worked on Capitol Hill, in addition to the Executive Branch of government.  Morry graduated with a J.D. from George Mason School of Law. 

 

Joyce Mattman

Joyce Mattman holds the role of Director of Commercial Product and Specialty Vehicles (SVM) at GM Fleet and Commercial Operations. Additionally, she serves as co-chair of the National Commercial Dealer Council Product Committee, and advisor on GM’s Law Enforcement Product Council. Prior to returning to the commercial side of the business, she served as GM’s Director of Residual Management from 2006-2008.  Before that, she worked in Fleet and Commercial Operations as both the Fleet Service Director and the Marketing Director.  She also has a decade of divisional truck experience in the home office and field working with dealers.

 

Brandon Morris

Brandon Morris is the Director of Fleet Services in Home Services at DIRECTV and manages a fleet of more than 6,000 vehicles used by technicians and supervisors across the company. He has more than 15 years’ experience in various fleet-related roles at large companies including AT&T Broadband, Comcast Corporation, and Charter Communications. Brandon’s career in fleet started in the maintenance department at Ryder TRS while attending the University of Denver.

Todd Mouw

Todd Mouw brings a 15 year background in the automotive and high tech industries to ROUSH CleanTech. He manages the national sales staff and currently leads the charge in helping Fortune 500 fleets find ways to reduce their carbon footprint and operating costs through utilizing alternative fuel technologies. He has considerable sales & marketing experience with Ford, GM and Chrysler on their dealer, fleet and consumer communications programs.

Prior to this, he was a National Manager at Toyota Financial Services and was responsible for the Material Handling, Commercial Truck, Commercial Fleet and Marketing teams. Richard also held the position of PHH Western Regional Vice President and Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for LeasePlan.

 

Eric Rosenberg

Eric Rosenberg’s career at American Honda has spanned 31 years.  During this time he has held assignments in a variety of departments including: Parts, Customer Relations, National Sales, Field Sales and National Advertising.  Prior to joining the Alternative Fuels Department in August of 2006, Eric was the Assistant National Advertising Manager for the Acura Division.  He oversaw the production of showroom merchandising materials and national print advertising.  Prior to the Acura assignment Eric held several national and field sales positions. Eric currently oversees fleet and retail sales activities, including marketing, promotions and field sales management for the natural gas powered Civic sedan.

Steve Saltzgiver is Fleet Operations Director-North America for Coca Cola Refreshments. CCR operates a fleet of over 50,000 assets and committed to it leadership role in corporate stewardship and sustainability. This is exemplified by CCR operating the largest commercial fleet of Hybrid Electric trucks in North America. Prior to joining CCR, Steve serve as State of Georgia Fleet Director overseeing a vehicle fleet of 20,000 assets. Prior to Georgia, Steve served as a fleet management consultant with Mercury Associates Incorporated, North America’s largest dedicated fleet management consultation company. Additionally, Steve served 12 years as Fleet Director for the State of Utah’s fleet of 10,000 plus assets.

 

Don Scott

Don serves as Director of Sustainability for the National Biodiesel Board. Don’s program areas build science and awareness to ensure that biodiesel production meets today’s needs for environmental stewardship, economic prosperity, and quality of life without compromising future generations’ ability to meet these needs for themselves. Don is a licensed Professional Engineer with a civil engineering degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia. Prior to joining the National Biodiesel Board, Don was an Environmental Engineer for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. His work there focused on protecting clean, plentiful drinking water.

 

Pete Silva
Director of Fleet Procurement and Indirect Purchasing for Frito Lay

Pete Silva began his 29 year career at Frito Lay as a manufacturing production supervisor and was the plant manager in two locations. He moved to the corporate office to run fleet operations and then to the parent company to manage fleet procurement. In 2007, Pete added the responsibility of Director of Indirect procurement where he negotiates agreements for Indirect Services and supplies for operations for the six largest private fleets in the country.  Pete is a member of the General Motors Customer Sounding Board and the Automotive Fleet Leasing Association Sounding Board. In 2008, Pete was recognized as Fleet Executive of the Year by Fleet Financial Magazine.

 

Aaron Singer

Aaron Singer is the Product Manager for Electric Vehicles at BMW North America. He started with the BMW Group Technology Office as an Advanced Technologies Engineer focused on a broad variety of energy topics, including thermo-electric generation, customer response to electric vehicles, and lightweight materials. Currently, he is responsible for setting options, pricing, and launch planning for the upcoming BMW i brand electric vehicles.

 

 

Mark Smith

Mark Smith is the Vehicle Technologies Deployment Manager for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) national Clean Cities program.  His responsibilities include developing outreach strategies for implementing new national partnerships between industry and the DOE Clean Cities program to successfully deploy new vehicle technologies.  Smith also works with the regional managers and individual Clean Cities coalitions to implement deployment strategies at the regional and local levels.  In addition, he develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders from vehicle manufacturers, fuel suppliers, educational institutions, environmental groups, nonprofit associations, government agencies and other related organizations to expand the use of alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies.

Mike Speer has been in his current position since 2008 and is responsible for the selection, acquisition, maintenance, and disposition of approximately 5,400 truck fleet to support home delivery sales.  Mike also oversees 480 warehouse facilities around the country where the trucks are domiciled and replenished. Mike’s team reduced the weight of their truck bodies, allowing them to move from medium-duty to light-duty chassis.  They installed idle shut-down devices that prevent the drivers from leaving them idling.  With 28 years with the company, Mike started by loading trucks in a warehouse, and then moved to warehousing trainer, inventory planner, Enterprise Resource Planning manager and director of supply chain planning.

 

Michael Stafford

Michael is responsible for developing new commercial fleet business and creating enthused Audi Brand Champions in the Western US markets.  During the past 3 ½ years he has worked closely with numerous fleet managers, corporate fleet management companies, Audi dealerships and other various business partners to provide progressive mobility solutions. Michael’s tenure in the fleet industry covers more than 22 years and includes employment with US Fleet Leasing, Wheels Inc. and National Car Rental.   Moreover, as a former ASE certified mechanic Michael’s diverse background provides him with a unique viewpoint of the automotive industry both past and present.

 

Scott Watts to speak at Green Fleet 2011

Scott Watts has 15 years fleet management experience.  He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1992 and achieved the National Association of Fleet Administrator’s Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) designation in 2005.  His tenure as NAFA’s South Central Chapter Chair ended this past spring.  He is active in the Tulsa Clean Cities Coalition and manages Samson’s CNG program.  He recently managed the courtesy cars for the 2010 Conference USA Basketball Tournament and the 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Regional held in Tulsa.  Just last month Scott created a new product that is patent pending.

Robert White is director of market development for RFA, a non-profit trade organization that serves as the voice of the ethanol industry, providing advocacy, authoritative analysis, and important industry data to its members, Congress, federal and state government agencies, strategic partners, the media and other opinion-leader audiences. He leads the effort to increase the availability and consumption of higher blends of ethanol, along with consumer education, social media and marketing.  Robert works with petroleum marketers and retailers, state and federal agencies, fleets and consumers.  He is also a sought after technical expert for the ethanol industry on ethanol, E85 and blender pumps.

 

James B. Wright

Fleet Counselor Services Inc.
Jim has 18 years managing government fleet operations including the City’s of Lakewood and City of Northglenn Colorado and Larimer County Colorado and 3 years as Senior Development Director for fleet management software systems.  He also has 18 years as President of Fleet Counselor Services Inc. an international consulting and software corporation. Jim is considered an industry expert in the effective use of information and technology and has published several papers and conducted over 100 workshops on fleet privatization and utilization management, subjects for which he is considered an industry expert. Jim is a long-time active member of the RMFMA.

 

Greg Zilberfarb
Propane Education and Research Council (PERC)
Greg Zilberfarb is currently working with the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC) to provide commercialization and outreach support for new products utilizing propane powered engines. His alternative fuels background is extensive and diverse. In addition to his work with PERC he is working with the National Biodiesel Board on OEM outreach and education. He was Executive Director of National Clean Cities Inc., a National Account Manager of AFVs with Ford Motor Company and Director of Marketing for the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition. Greg is currently President of the Sales NetWork, a provider of education and outreach services to the alternative fuel industry headquartered in Virginia.
