Richard Battersby
Director of Fleet Services
University of California, Davis
Richard Battersby is the Director of Fleet Services at University of California, Davis and is Coordinator of the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition. He has over 25 years in the fleet industry and has written and participated in numerous state, local and federal grant funded projects. Richard is a CAFM and CPFP and currently holds over 40 ASE certifications. Richard has a BS degree from the California State University, Sacramento and is an active member in PFSA, APWA, CCFMA, and is a past Chairman and officer of the NAFA San Francisco Chapter.


Kipp Coddington
Kazmarek Mowrey Cloud Laseter, LLP
Kipp Coddington heads the Washington, D.C. office of Kazmarek Mowrey Cloud Laseter LLP, a law firm that specializes in energy and environmental law. Kipp’s practice focuses on the Clean Air Act, fossil fuels, and fleet issues. He represented the American Automotive Leasing Association and National Association of Fleet Administrators before the U.S. Supreme Court in a case involving the scope of federal preemption of state fleet requirements (Engine Mfrs. Ass’n v. South Coast Air Quality Management District, 541 U.S. 246 (2004)).

Paul Barbaro

Thermo King Corp.
Paul Barbaro is product manager for Thermo King Corp. He has been with Thermo King Corp for 18 years in a number of different roles throughout the organization. Previously to that, he spent a number of years with various Thermo King dealers. Paul has been the APU product manager for 3 years with an exclusive focus on idle reduction and providing idle reduction technology. He is a member of the Ingersoll Rand Dow Jones Sustainability Index work group for the last 3 years as well.


Dan Belknap
Product Manager
Dan Belknap works with current and prospective clients to understand their needs and identify solutions specific to their fleet. He then works directly with our Information Technology group to develop the necessary enhancements to our FleetView and DriverView online systems, as well as other Wheels products. Dan manages a suite of services, including EcoWheels™, Risk Management and Driver Tax Compliance, and is dedicated to their ongoing development. He is also one of Wheels’ thought leaders on environmental policies, and works with clients to reduce their carbon footprint while maximizing fleet efficiency.


Bill Burns
Fleet Operations Manager
City of Columbus, OH, Fleet Management Division
Bill Burns has 27 years of fleet management experience and has been the City of Columbus Fleet Operations Manager for the last 6 years. He is responsible for over-seeing operations for the City’s fleet of over 6200 vehicles and equipment as well as 128 ASE Blue Seal employees. Bill is also responsible for development of the City’s green fleet initiatives, implementation of the City’s first green fleet policy, the construction of the first city CNG station and the city is purchasing 24 additional CNG trucks. He implemented on-line vehicle/equipment auctions that generate over $1,000,000,000/year.


Corey Catten
Chief Technology Officer
inthinc Technology Solutions, Inc.
Corey Catten has served as vice president and chief technology officer at inthinc Technology Solutions since 2003. He is responsible for leading engineering and software development teams in designing and delivering state-of-the-art technology to inthinc customers. During his tenure at inthinc, Catten has delivered the most advanced fleet management and driver safety solutions that are now implemented across thousands of vehicles operating within a variety of industries and environments. His developments, including in-cab verbal alters to speeding, seat-belt use and idling, have been hailed as revolutionary for its approach in coaching and modifying driver behavior, rather than punishing it.


Andrew Douglas

Andrew Douglas is National Sales Manager for Kenworth Truck Company in Kirkland, Wash. During his 30-year career in the transportation business, he has held numerous positions within PACCAR and its divisions including; Kenworth, PACCAR Financial and PacLease that included both domestic and International assignments. For the past 8 years, Andrew has lead Kenworth’s “Green Initiatives” covering the growing markets for Natural Gas & hybrid products and has worked directly with the Ports of Los Angles, Long Beach, Oakland & Seattle on clean truck strategies.


Gregg Duckett
Public Works Operations Manager
City of Phoenix, AZ
Gregg Duckett is a Public Works Operations Manager at the city of Phoenix, with responsibility for tracking, analyzing and quantifying maintenance and fuel data for a fleet of over 7,500 pieces of equipment. Under Gregg’s purview, alternative fuel use expanded from 7,000 to over 284,234 gallons a month, the number of CNG fuel sites increased from 7 to 9, 4 E85 fuel sites were added, heavy duty hydraulic fluid and engine oil were replaced with re-refined products and the city was one of the top 10 Green Fleets in the nation the last 3 years in a row.


Robin Erickson
Executive Director and Southern Coordinator
Utah Clean Cities Coalition
Robin Erickson is the Executive Director for the Utah Clean Cities Coalition since 2007.
In 2008, she trained 3,000 school bus drivers in 45 school districts to reduce their energy consumption by reducing their idling time with a first year fuel savings of 92,000 gallons of diesel. As a former fleet manager for 14 years, she introduced alternative fuels saving $390,000 in fuel costs and nine tons of particulate matter.


Ken Gillies

Ken Gillies’ four decades in the truck fleet world include 18 with GE Fleet. Since 2005, he’s been managing the GE Truck Engineering operation. His on-going passion focuses on helping customers ask the right questions to maximize the match between their business’ tasks and their vehicle fleet. With experience ranging from line mechanic to business operations management, Ken has helped numerous fleet operations put the right truck to work.


Bill Gordon
Vice President Global No Idle Sales
Bergstrom Inc.
Bill Gordon has over 30 years’ experience in the heavy duty truck and commercial vehicle market and has served with companies including Caterpillar, Sears Seating and Link Manufacturing. He has been with Bergstrom Inc. for over 6 yearsand has responsibility for the no idle products globally. Bill also heads up no idle (parking cooler) sales in Europe the Pacific Rim and BRIC countries including Dirna Bergstrom no idle products produced in Alcala De Henares Spain. Bill served two terms as chairman of the Marketing and Sales Forum for the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA).


Nadine Haupt, P.E.
Director of Alternative Fuels & Powertrain Product Marketing, North American Truck Operations

Navistar, Inc.
Nadine Haupt serves as the Director of Alternative Fuels & Powertrain Product Marketing, North American Truck Operations, at Navistar, Incorporated. Nadine joined Navistar in 2008 as Manager of Strategic Planning, Engine Group, where she initiated and led efforts to develop technology and product strategy in Alternative Fuels. Prior to Navistar, Nadine provided technical expertise as an expert witness for clients defending product liability lawsuits for Engineering Systems, Inc. Nadine began her career as a product engineer for Chrysler Corporation, later moving to Corsa Instruments, where she was responsible for engine and vehicle engineering development and new product introductions.


Ed Hoffman
Fleet and Asset Manager
Keystone Automotive Operations, Inc.
Ed Hoffman has 23 years’ experience in the automotive and fleet operations arena. His experience includes management roles in service, parts, fleet leasing, and marketing. He has relevant experience in light, medium, and heavy duty truck classes. For the past five years he has managed the fleet for Keystone Automotive Operations, the largest aftermarket auto parts distributor in North America. With 25 locations, this highly utilized fleet of 400 units travels over 30 million miles a year. Within the past twelve months, Keystone has transitioned one third of its fleet and over half of it’s locations to operate on clean, domestic, propane autogas.


Dave Hurst

Navigant Research
Dave Hurst is a principal research analyst contributing to Navigant Research’s Smart Transportation program, with a primary focus on analyzing emerging markets for electric vehicles, natural gas vehicles, fuel cell vehicles, and other means of electric transportation such as scooters and motorcycles. Dave is an experienced transportation consultant and market researcher with 15 years of market analysis experience in the automotive industry. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and is frequently quoted in the national media including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Commercial Carrier Journal, and other publications.


Krzysztof (Kris) Hus
Powertrain Product Strategy Manager
Daimler Trucks North America
Kris Hus is the manager of powertrain product strategy for Daimler Trucks North America with responsibility for long range product planning of engines and transmissions for the Freightliner and Western Star Truck brands. He has 17 years of experience in the medium and heavy duty commercial vehicle manufacturing industry and has worked extensively with hybrid-drive and alternative fuel technologies having served as product manager for DTNA's Freightliner Custom Chassis division. Kris holds a bachelor's degree for mechanical engineering from the Fenn College of Engineering.


Steve Kibler
Fleet Manager
City of Loveland, CO
Steve Kibler started working for an independent garage at age 16 repairing everything from farm tractors to foreign cars. After graduating from an auto mechanic tech school, Steve moved to Colorado in 1972 and worked for various dealerships and independents before accepting a mechanic job with the City of Loveland in 1988. Within two years Steve was promoted to Shop Supervisor and eventually to Fleet Manger in 1995. Steve is ACFM Certified, ASE Triple Master in automotive, heavy truck and school bus. Steve’s passion is adapting the right technology to the right need.


Ron Latko
Director of Transportation and Fleet Management
Mesa Unified School District
Ron Latko is the director of transportation and fleet management for Mesa Unified School District #4 in Mesa, AZ. Mesa was the first school district in Arizona to integrate propane school buses into its fleet and is converting its bus fleet, along with some of its support vehicles to propane. They will be taking delivery of an additional 61 propane buses over the next few months bringing the total propane bus count to 89. Ron is going into his eighth year with Mesa Public Schools. Ron was previously with Laidlaw Education Services as general manager of Arizona and has 27 years’ experience in the transportation industry.


Chris Morgan
Director of Strategic Consulting
Chris Morgan is responsible for sales support and analysis to drive down total cost of ownership for ARI clients and prospects. His analyst team develops strategies and implementation plans designed to lower costs and increase operational efficiency for fleets. He also directs ARI’s Environmental Management System and manages sustainable consulting for ARI clients. Chris began his career with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in 1996 and was quickly promoted to area sales manager in 1999, responsible for cultivating client relationships within multiple locations. In 2004, he was named regional sales director in Columbus, Ohio where he led all sales, operational and business development activities.


Don Diego Padilla

Don Diego Padilla is a Vice-President at FleetMind Solutions, Inc., where he spearheads business and customer development activities. Previously, Mr. Padilla was a Regional Director for Allied Waste/Republic Services - the leading provider of solid waste collection, transfer, recycling and disposal services in the US. Mr. Padilla is a frequent contributor to FleetSMARTS, an industry newsletter for fleet organization executives. His recent white paper on fleet safety won a Network Products Guide Award. He has been published in multiple industry magazines and is a frequent speaker at industry forums including Waste Expo 2013, SWANA events and various seminars for municipal and waste industry fleet professionals.


Laura Palombi
Project Manager
Clean Energy Coalition
Laura Palombi is a project manager at Clean Energy Coalition, a non-profit firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan that provides technical assistance to organizations, private industry, and municipalities working toward sustainable transportation and energy goals. CEC is home to the Ann Arbor, Detroit Area, and Western Michigan Clean Cities coalitions. Ms. Palombi manages CEC’s Fuel Forward fleet consulting services she has first-hand experience working on projects to deploy alternative fuel vehicles and the infrastructure to support them. Laura is a graduate of the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise program at the University of Michigan, where she earned her MBA and MS degrees.


Dale Peay

Dale Peay has 25 years of heavy-duty engine experience and a unique understanding of the effects of idling on equipment. Dale has been with Espar 6 years and currently manages the field sales and product support groups for North America. Espar’s sales group has been instrumental in developing emissions reduction packages for a variety of applications.


Ralph Perpetuini
Icom North America LLC
Ralph Perpetuini is the CEO of Icom North America, a pioneer in the development and manufacturer of alternative fuel systems and tanks including. He previously held a number of key management positions over his 17 years with Icom S.p.A. serving as the firm’s product manager, marketing manager and became general manager in 1997. Ralph implemented product development, created the company’s global distribution network in 5 continents and managed strategic planning. He positioned Icom S.p.A. as the worldwide leader for Liquid Injection Propane systems. His active role as part of the European Commission for Standardization and Normalization helped achieve the current standard used for European Approval of Propane systems.


Ben Prochazka

Ben Prochazka joined the Electrification Coalition on October 2012 as the Director of Strategic Initiatives to lead innovative plug-in electric vehicle deployment projects like Drive Electric Northern Colorado and Drive Electric Orlando. Ben has spent more than a decade leading environmental, human rights, and voter engagements efforts at the local, state, national and international level. His experience includes leadership roles as the Vice President for nationally recognized consulting firm FieldWorks, the Campaign Director for the Save Darfur Coalition, the Legislative Director for the Colorado Environmental Coalition, the Colorado State Director for the New Voters Project and numerous organizations across the country.


Jim Reinish

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
Jim Reinish is the fleet manager for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a major operator of airports, tunnels, bridges, ports and the World Trade Center. Responsible for 2,000 vehicles, valued at $300 million, Jim has led his fleet to become one of the nation’s top government green fleets, as well as one of the top 100 Fleets in North America. Jim’s accomplishments earned him Green Fleet Magazine’s recognition as a Sustainability All-Star. Jim serves as the Chairman of the New York Inter-County Chapter of NAFA and is an active supporter of the Empire Clean Cities Coalition.


James Thompson

GE Capital Fleet Services
James Thompson is a Strategic Consulting Manager for GE Capital Fleet Services. Under James’ leadership, GE’s Strategic Consulting team supports GE’s customers by providing analytics around fleet performance, strategic guidance, and recommendations on how to minimize fleet spend, improve operational efficiencies, and reduce downtime. This team, in conjunction with other experts at GE Capital Fleet Services, has identified more than $1.6 billion in potential savings opportunities for customers since 2008. Additionally, James also spearheads GE’s Alternative Fuels analytics platform which is designed to help customers identify additional fuel savings and sustainability opportunities in their fleets. James developed his deep expertise in financial analytics in the retail and airline industries.


Tom Winnberg
Director of Vendor Performance Management
Tom Winnberg joined ARAMARK at its global headquarters in Philadelphia in 2006. Since 2011, Tom has served as Director of Vendor Performance Management, Strategic Fleet Operations, overseeing operational vehicle and equipment compliance, specifications, ordering, strategic planning, vendor performance and supplier agreement maximization. Tom has dedicated 35+ years in field and staff positions in the truck rental, leasing and maintenance industry at the customer, field and corporate levels. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rosemont College in Philadelphia and is a Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) by the American Purchasing Society. Tom and his wife reside in Alloway, New Jersey.
